Reasoning! —Mark 8:14-17 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf. & He charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, & of the leaven of Herod. & they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread. & when Jesus knew it, He saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? — Reasoning led the disciples to a lack of understanding & maybe even hardening of their hearts! —Isaiah 1:18 (ESV) Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. 1 Peter 3:18 In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness & respect. — We must learn to trust God & lean not on our own understanding, acknowledge Him in ALL our ways & He will forgive us!
