Luke 3:21-22: Jesus’ Baptism and His Ministry Begins

Luke 3:21-22 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. & as He was praying, heaven was opened, & the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. & a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” Matt 3:16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. Suddenly the heavens were opened, & he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove & resting on Him. Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests. Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven & filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated & came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit & began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. — His spirit looks for a place to rest & when it finds that place, it enables the person! Enable means to “give (someone or something) the authority or means to do something”. Be enabled with His spirit, then you can do things greater than your own ability! Pray Pray Pray! Love Mel

Ephesians 1:3-12: He Has Blessed Us With All Spiritual Blessings in Heavenly Places Through Christ

Eph 1:3-12 Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy & without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom & prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven & which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah. — We are Blessed! Love Mel

1 Kings 18: Elijah’s Crisis of Faith

1 Kings 18:22 Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred fifty prophets”. 1 Kings 18:40 Then Elijah ordered them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let a single one escape.” So they seized them, & Elijah brought them down to the Kishon Valley & slaughtered them there. 1 Kings 19:2 Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ‘So may the gods do to me & more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.’” 1 Kings 19:13-14 When Elijah heard the still small voice, he wrapped his face in his cloak & went out & stood at the mouth of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him & said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” “I have been very zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars, & killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one left, & they are seeking my life as well. — Have you ever had a great day of faith, believing & trusting God? Then following this you sink to an all time low? Elijah had destroyed 450 Baal prophets, now he is hiding out in a cave afraid of one woman, Jezebel! And what was the divine reply to him? Rom 11:4 says “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” God is always at work and His plan WILL come to pass. Fear can wreck havoc on your life! It is the one thing that we must overcome! When we put our trust in God, we will find that overcoming spirit! FEAR is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real! The creator is the only real thing that matters! Trust Him. Love Mel

Hebrews 4:15-16: Jesus is Our High Priest Who Knows Our Weakness

Hebr 4:15-16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy & find grace to help us in our time of need. Eph 3:12 In Him & through faith in Him we may enter God’s presence with boldness & confidence. — Did you know that you have to find grace & receive mercy! When you were young did you ever play the game hide & seek outside? Sometimes it was hard to find my oldest brother bc he could hide so well! What joy we had playing this game with all our family & friends. Or have you ever lost something that was important to you? Did you take time to look & look? — Luke 15:18-9Or what woman who has ten silver coins & loses one of them does not light a lamp, sweep her house, & search carefully until she finds it? & when she finds it, she calls together her friends & neighbors to say, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost coin. — I assure you when you find Him you will certainly rejoice & be filled with His joy. He is worth the time spent to find His grace & to find His mercy! Be young again. Love Mel

1 Peter 5:7: Cast Your Cares on Him

Frustrated? 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your cares on Him, because He cares for you. Matt 11:28-29 Come to me, all who labor & are heavy laden, & I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, & learn from me, for I am gentle & lowly in heart, & you will find rest for your souls. Gal 6:9-10 Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, & especially to the family of faith. 2 Thes 3:13 As for the rest of you, dear brothers & sisters, never get tired of doing good. Eph 2:19 Therefore you are no longer strangers & foreigners, but fellow citizens of the saints & members of God’s household. — When frustrated it is the best time to remember Who’s we belong too & override the frustration by doing good!
