One of my favorites! Donkey fell in a pit! – One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a pit. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the pit needed to be covered up! There wasn’t any way to save the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel & began to shovel dirt into the pit. At first, the donkey realized what was happening & cried terribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the pit & was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off & take a step up. As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off again & take another a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the pit & trotted off!
Moral – Life can get dirty & you can find yourself in a pit! The key to getting out is to shake it off & take a step up. Every trouble is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest pits just by not stopping, never giving up & shaking it off! Love Mel
Luke 18:1-5: Always Pray and Never Give Up
Luke 18:1-5 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray & not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. & there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come & attack me!’” —Sometimes we pray, pray, & pray some more & nothing seems to change! However, this is when we must dig in & pray some more! You see there is a battle going on & the enemy is trying to get us to give up or give in! That is why we must never stop praying! Psalm 118:13-14: But The Lord Helped Me
Psalm 118:13-14 I was pushed so hard I was falling, but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength & my song, & He has become my salvation. Luke 5:4 When he had finished speaking, he told Simon, “Push out into deep water, & lower your nets for a catch. Phil 3:14 With my eyes fixed on the goal I push on to secure the prize of God’s heavenward call in Christ Jesus.— Push – “to press upon or against (a thing) with force in order to move it.
to move (something) in a specified way by exerting force; drive”— To Push or be pushed! — Isaiah 55:10-11 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, do not return to it without watering the earth & making it bud & flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower & bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire & achieve the purpose for which I sent it. — As our God sets in motion to move, it is all for His purpose! Daniel 2:17-30: Daniel Interprets the King’s Dream by God’s Power and Saves the Day
Dan 2:17-30 Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, &He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream & the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these: To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, & he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be. But as for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, & that you may know the thoughts of your mind. —Our God reveals mysteries when we seek Him! —Prov 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter. Luke 9:45 They did not understand this statement, & it was concealed from them so that they would not perceive it; & they were afraid to ask Him about this statement.— Never be afraid to ask Him for help! — Prov 8:17 I love those who love me, & those who seek me early shall find me. — Matter of fact, He loves it! Seek & you shall find! Love Mel
