Memorial Day – A Time to Remember

Hope you had a blessed Memorial Day! Take a moment & thank God for the Men & Women that have died for the freedom of this country! It is my belief that freedom is worth fighting over! Here are some quotes worth pondering! Love Mel
Q, Franklin D. Roosevelt, “Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them.”
Q, General Douglas MacArthur, “No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.”
Q, Elmer Davis, “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.”
Q, Unknown, “Home of the free, because of the brave.” “May we never forget freedom isn’t free.” “If you want to thank a soldier, be the kind of American worth fighting for.”

The Importance of Praise and Thanksgiving

Prayer & Praise with Thanksgiving Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer & supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, & into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, & bless His Holy name. 1 Thes 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Col 4:2 Continue in prayer, & watch in the same with thanksgiving; — Prayer is our means of communicating with our Father! Our praise is a gift or offering! Thanksgiving is our way of showing our Father how grateful we are for All He does for us! When we learn to focus on our God with a Thankful heart offering our praise, we begin to see more of Him & His blessings like peace, mercy, grace, & love! Love Mel

Examine Yourself to See if You Are in the Faith

Who is your first love? —2 Cor13:5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed you fail to meet the test. — We should always consider “The One” who loved us so much that He gave Himself for us! Just knowing this one thing opens the door for us to love God with all our heart, mind, and soul! The only way we can truly love Him with all our hearts is with His help! — Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, & renew a steadfast spirit within me. — Now that we know what to pray for, we can put forth an effort to live this life for Him, first! The Seven Churches and Us!

Have you ever looked at the seven churches in Revelation to see what they were lacking? —Ephesus was the church that had abandoned its first love (Revelation 2:4). Smyrna was the church that would face severe persecution (Revelation 2:10). Pergamum was the church that needed to repent of sin (Revelation 2:16). Thyatira was the church whose false prophetess was leading people astray (Revelation 2:20). Sardis was the sleeping church that needed to wake up (Revelation 3:2). Philadelphia was the church that had patiently persevered (Revelation 3:10). Laodicea was the church with lukewarm faith (Revelation 3:16). — The key here is to put Christ first, repent, stay awake, & don’t be fooled by the pleasures of this world! Love Mel

Without Faith it is Impossible to Please God

Prov 16:7 When a man’s ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. — So how do we please Him? —Hebr 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, & that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Rom 8:8-9 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. — So believe that He is who He says He is, do good & choose to live by the spirit & not of the flesh! Love Mel
