Salvation is “the act of saving or protecting from harm, risk, destruction & loss”. The Biblical meaning is “the saving of the soul from sin & its consequences”.
Eph 2:8-9 (ESV) For by grace you have been saved through faith. & this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration & renewal of the Holy Spirit,— His Love & His grace hold within it great power to change us for all eternity! These gifts have come to us thru Christ, His only son! That thru Him we have inherited the kingdom of God! Hallelujah. Sing His praise, by living a life filled with His JOY! Remember a merry heart is good like a medicine! Stay focused on Him & His Kingdom! That is where true JOY is found! Love Mel
Never Give Up – That’s the Key
Gal 6:9 (ESV) Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we DO NOT give up. 2 Thes 3:13 As for you, brothers, DO NOT grow weary in doing good. Luke 8:13 The ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, & in time of testing fall away. — No matter what DO NOT give up; DO NOT grow weary; & DO NOT fall away during testing! Believe, Pray, Believe, & Pray continually for — Lam 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are NEW EVERY morning;… Love Mel
Hope in the Lord
Isaiah 40:31. Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run & not grow weary, they will walk & not be faint. Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age & gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you & I will carry you; I will sustain you & I will rescue you. Psalm 73:26 My flesh & my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart & my portion forever. Psalm 90:10 Our days may come to 70 years, or 80, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble & sorrow, for they quickly pass, & we fly away. — Live a graceful life, keep your focus on God & one day we will fly away to our true home in heaven! Q by Billy Graham, “When granted many years of life, growing old in age is natural, but growing old with grace is a choice.”
Avoid the Deadly Sin of Pride
James 4:6 (ESV) Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Rom 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Prov 16:5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. Phil 2:3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. —Pride is when someone has a superior attitude toward self. They need to be in control & are searching for attention!
Pride is being SELF-ish; Thinking MORE about SELF; in love with SELF; Believing SELF is better/higher than others; SELF-worship; Preoccupation with SELF & SELF-centered.
Pride can be found in life’s little struggles: laziness, gossiping, & rule breaking. It can also be in life’s big struggles: unforgiveness, abuse, & defiance.
Pride is what got Satan thrown from heaven! It is really bad! So how to overcome it? Confess it & allow the Holy Spirit to heal! Giving all the praise to God for lifting us out of the pit & thanking Him for giving us the grace that is His free gift that we don’t deserve! How awesome! Love Mel
Build on Christs Foundation
1 Cor 3:10-16 According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, & someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, & the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. —Do you not know that you are God’s temple & that God’s Spirit dwells in you. From the beginning God has wanted to commune with us! The indwelling presence of God literally changes everything! His presence sustains us during the struggles of life! — Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. — We must BELIEVE in Him! Prayer & Worship are the ways to communicate with Him! Love Mel
