Acts 2: The Holy Spirit Given to Believers.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you. Luke 24:49 Behold, I send the promise of my Father on you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you are endued with power from on high. Act 2:1-4 During the arriving of the day of Pentecost, they were all together in one place. & suddenly a sound like a violent rushing wind came out of heaven, & it filled the whole house where they were sitting. & there appeared to them dividing tongues as of fire & SAT upon each one of them. & they were all filled with the Holy Spirit & began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit was giving to them to utter forth.—Pentecost means 50! Exactly 50 days after Christ had been resurrected, the first Christians were celebrating Pentecost & the Holy Spirit SAT upon each of them! This is the beginning of the Church! When we receive God’s Spirit following repentance, that Spirit begins a process of spiritual transformation in our life. Love Mel

Pentecost!!

From Bill Re: Pentecost. Direct quote from Michael Rood. “The fire! The thunder! The awesome voice of the Almighty himself delivering the 10 commandments… and that was just the first Shavuot (shah-voo-OAT)! On this same day in history, the mighty rushing wind of the Holy Spirit was given to Yeshua’s disciples in Jerusalem. That’s why Shavuot (also known as Pentecost) is the anniversary of both events — the inseparable bond between the Torah and the Spirit! Shavuot is a Hebrew word that means “weeks” and is called as such because we are to count 7 weeks up to the day of Shavuot from the Day of First Fruits (the morrow after Yeshua rose from the dead). The Day of First Fruits is the period of the spring barley harvest and Shavuot is the period of the wheat harvest. It is common among Torah-observant believers to mark each day during this period by “counting the omer” (49 days) up to the 50th day of the count, which is the actual day of Shavuot. The “omer” is a unit of measure used in the Bible and in this context refers to the measure of barley used in the “wave” offering on the Day of First Fruits. Interestingly, while most Hebrew festivals fall on different days of the week from year to year, Shavuot is always celebrated on a Sunday (referred to simply as “the first day of the week” in Hebrew). This happens because the 50-day counting of the omer that commences on the Day of First Fruits also always starts on a Sunday, the “morrow after the Sabbath”, as commanded in Leviticus 23:15.” — Love Mel

John 8:12: Jesus is The Light of The World

Have you ever gone camping & noticed how dark the night can be? It is here where we see how much a bright light penetrates the darkness! —John 8:12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life. 1 Peter 2:9 We are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that we may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. 2 Cor 4-6 For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. — In this life, we will all experience different kinds of darkness.
Phil 2:14-15 “Do all things without complaining or arguing so that we will look very different than the world, a crooked & depraved generation; then we will shine like stars in the night sky.”— When we learn to trust God, we will find His light shining in our darkness! All the grumbling & complaining only opens the door to the enemy’s tactics, which cause our lights to dim! God always has a way out of the darkness into the light! Love Mel

Psalm 82: He Sits in the Divine Council as Ruler Over All

From Bill — Have you seen this before? Psalm 82 ESV. 1-8 God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Give justice to the weak & the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted & the destitute. Rescue the weak & the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, & fall like any prince.” Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations! —Did you know God created many lesser ruling creatures? These concepts are fully developed in Michael Heiser’s work. Did you ever wonder who the god of the Egyptians was? Or who the god of the Moabites was? Were they real beings or just dreamed up? This is what powers and principalities are. These are the influences over regions and dominions. —Gen 6:1-4 tells how sons of God came into daughters of men & created Nephilim or giants. These exerted great negative influence on humanity. There is quite a bit going on in the spiritual world that we cannot see. Obey the Lord, keep your prayer life strong & quote scriptures like Jesus did in the dessert when tempted. Give no place to dark spiritual forces. — Love Mel

1 Thessalonians 5:17: Pray Without Ceasing

JESUS HAS BROKEN EVERY CURSE OFF OUR LIFE. We are to Arm ourself with the Living Word of the Lord. The word in our mouth will be the greatest weapon against the enemy’s attacks . PRAYER is our greatest Weapon Against Spiritual Warfare! In Exodus 33:14-16 we see that the people were with God! We must remember that we are distinguishable by His Presence! If He is for us, no devil in hell can stand against us! 1 Thes 5:17 Tells us to pray without ceasing! Prayer is how we build our relationship with God everyday! Sometimes God wants us to WAIT! How about you? Do you wait well? If life is a test preparing us for something greater it can be so much fun just watching Him work! Remember when we rest He works on our behalf! The battles belong to Him! So what are you willing to go thru for Him? Life can look so different when we give Him the reins! —Phil 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
