The Love of Money or The Love of God First
All Verses from ESV. (Rich Man to Jesus) Luke 18:18-23 Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” & Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father & mother.’” & he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have & distribute to the poor, & you will have treasure in heaven; & come, follow me. When he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. — (Wealthy man to Jesus) Luke 19:2-5 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector & was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead & climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up & said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. Luke 19:8-9 Zacchaeus stood up & said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here & now I give half of my possessions to the poor, & if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek & to save the lost.”— Notice the different responses to Jesus from the two different wealthy men! Which will you be? It is so worth pondering! Love Mel

The Feast of Tabernacles
From Bill —The three fall festivals of the Lord are nearing completion with the Feast of Tabernacles starting this Friday and going for a week. Initially it started with the Tabernacle in the wilderness. Then as an intermediate fulfillment Christ came to Tabernacle with us. One day Christ will rule and reign on earth for 1000 years in the millennial kingdom. Following is copied from the book “Wake Up”. “On the Feast of Tabernacles 70 bulls would be sacrificed. This happened until the destruction of the temple. Each bull represented one of the 70 nations on earth. Israel was the nation set apart by God, sanctified as priests for the nations. They were a people of mediators and according to the Biblical promise, the people of God’s Israel will also be mediators in the Kingdom of Peace. When will the Feast of Tabernacles in reality finally be fulfilled? Each one of the earlier feasts has found its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. The final fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles refers to the time when Jesus will reign on earth as King of kings during the Thousand Year Reign. During the Millennial Reign of Peace, the Feast of Tabernacles will not only be celebrated by Israel, but by all the nations on earth. Since Jerusalem is from that moment on the center of global government, all nations and their leaders will come during the Feast of Tabernacles to Jerusalem to join the annual gathering of “the United Nations under Jesus Christ.” Nations refusing to come with their delegations to Jerusalem during that festival in the Fall, will be confronted with drought in their country, as the prophet Zechariah prophesied. It will be an age of the visible rule of Jesus Christ on earth as the King of all kings.” Love Mel
