Romans 13:11-12 That, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness & put on the armor of light. Mark 13:36-37 Otherwise, He may arrive without notice & find us sleeping. & what I say to you, I say to everyone: Keep watch!” — This reminds me of the Parable of the ten virgins, 5 wise who took oil for their lamps & 5 foolish who did not take oil for their lamps! —Matt 25:13 (KJV)Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. — So what do we do? —Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, & his righteousness; & all these things shall be added unto you. — When we spend our time seeking Him, we are certain to find Him! God Made Us Alive Together With Christ Because of His Great Love For Us
Eph 2:4-5 (ESV) God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace we have been saved. 1John4:10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us & sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Psalm 136:26 Give thanks to the God of heaven, for His steadfast love endures forever. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God… — Why love? Because love will be forever! Love is a fruit of the spirit & we are to live in the spirit! Love is from God & is everlasting! — 1Cor 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.— Love is the greatest of any thing we can do that will last thru out eternity! It is the one thing that we can do that will never be destroyed! —1Peter 4:8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. — Love is a real saving grace! Showing love shows Him within us! Let’s do it! Love Mel
Thanks for all the prayers! God was faithful! Praise Him!
Set Your Affections on Things Above
Colossians 3 (KJV):
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
This is Paul’s letter to the church at Colosse which was heavily influenced by Greek and Roman culture and religion. The points he is making here is chapter 3 are that we should:
- Set our affections on things above, not that which is on earth.
- We should reckon ourselves dead to the things of this world.
- We are going to come in glory with Christ when He comes so we must put away the deeds of the flesh, which are an abomination to God.
- We must out off evil and put on the image of Christ. We must become new men and women.
- We are equal in Christ.
Let the Lord Jesus be Number 1 in your life. You will be glad you did.
Mark 4: The Lord Rebukes the Wind, Waves and Sea and They OBEY
Mark 4:37-40 (KJV) There arose a great storm of wind, & the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. & He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: & they awake Him, & say unto Him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? & He arose, & rebuked the wind, & said unto the sea, Peace, be still. & the wind ceased, & there was a great calm. & He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?— Key is finding peace in the midst of the storms in life! If God be for us, then what can mere man do to us? If God be with us, then what can evil do to us that will not become our benefit! If we can find faith in Him even in the hard times, there we will surely find His glory! Always keep the faith, pray about everything & worry about nothing, & it will be well with us! All things put in His hands can be trusted there! Because He cares for us! & Don’t ever forget it! If you ever find yourself anxious, just start singing that little childhood song, “JESUS LOVES ME” & you will find that calming spirit! Love Mel
The Lord’s Anger is But For a Moment
Moses doesn’t get to go to the promise land! —Deut 3:25 Please let me go over & see the good land beyond the Jordan, that good hill country & Lebanon.’ —God buried Moses! —Deut 34:5-6 So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord, & he (God) buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but no one knows the place of his burial to this day. — Michael & Satan fight over the body of Moses! —Jude 1:9 Then the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” — God’s anger is for a moment. —Psalm 30:5 For his (the Lord’s) anger is but for a moment, & his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning. — Moses enters the promise land talking to Jesus! — Matt 17:3 Behold, there appeared to them Moses & Elijah, talking with Jesus. — This shows how God protects us & forgives us, even in the most difficult times in our lives!
