The Importance of Love

1 John 4:7-12 (NIV)Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God & knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one & only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us & sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us & His love is made complete in us. — God is love & He loves us! What a gift, His only begotten son, He has given us! Love Mel

Choose the Good Part – Sit at Jesus Feet and Don’t Worry!

Matt 13:47-52 (all KJV) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, & gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, & sat down, & gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, & sever the wicked from among the just, shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing & gnashing of teeth. Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new & old. —The lesson here is “Our place is at the feet of Christ”. — Luke 10:38-42 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: & a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. & she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, & heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, & came to him, & said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me. & Jesus answered & said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful & troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: & Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Go and Tell! – Your Testimony is Your Best Witness

Luke 8:38-39 (ESV) The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with Him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home & tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away & told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Luke 13:32 He (Jesus) said to them, “Go & tell that fox (Herod), ‘Behold, I cast out demons & perform cures today & tomorrow, & the third day I finish my course. — Jesus tells us to “Go Tell”! Do you know that you are the only one that can really tell your story! When God does magnificent things for us, it is the perfect opportunity to tell others! Our experiences are the perfect opportunities to bring hope to those that God brings to us. Sharing the good news of what God has done or is doing is what we are to do! Let’s do it. Love Mel

Light, Life and Truth

Gen 1:3-5 (all KJV) God said, Let there be light: & there was light. & God saw the light, that it was good: & God divided the light from the darkness. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 1:4-5 In Him was life; & the life was the light of men. & the light shineth in darkness; & the darkness comprehended it not —Jesus is our path out of darkness, because there is no sin that He didn’t die for! We must continue to pray that in this dark time that He will open our minds to the truth! — John 8:32 Ye shall know the truth, & the truth shall make you free. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, & the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. — Light & Truth opens the door to the one that created it! Seems to me that He is the one we should seek to be more like! Don’t follow the darkness, you will end up lost! Love Mel

Set The Example and Shine Your Light

John 8:12 ( all KJV) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, & a light unto my path. Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, & glorify your Father which is in heaven. — Benjamin Franklin decided to take a different approach to lighting the city. He built a brighter lamp & placed in front of his house for people to see as they passed. Franklin’s lamp shone cleaner & brighter than all the old street lamps. Within a few months, the city started replacing the old lamps with the new Franklin built lamp. From his experiment Franklin uncovered a powerful truth: suggestions nor arguments are never as powerful as good examples.— Let’s be those good examples of today & shine brighter for our Lord.
