In This World There Will be Trouble – But Fear Not

Luke 4:1-13 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan & was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, for forty days, being tempted by the devil. & He ate nothing during those days. & when they were ended, He was hungry. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread” & Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’” & the devil took him up & showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time & said to him, “To you I will give all this authority & their glory, for it has been delivered to me, & I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” & Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, & Him only shall you serve.’” & he took him to Jerusalem & set him on the pinnacle of the temple & said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you, to guard you,’ & ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” & Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” & when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time. — Have you ever gone thru a wilderness experience? When Jesus walked the earth He was tested & tested for our behalf! For you see He who knew NO sin paid the price for our sins! & He warned us that we too would have trouble in this world, BUT BE of GOOD CHEER for He has overcome the world! Now that is worth finding your joy in the middle of your wilderness experience! The battle has been won! And no matter what we are winners. Love Mel
