1 Cor 11:25 (ESV) In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. Matt 26:26-28 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, & after blessing it broke it & gave it to the disciples, 7 said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” & He took a cup, & when He had given thanks He gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive us our sins & to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. — The shedding of innocent blood for the atonement of sin was the method to restore the relationship between God & man! Jesus was the final sacrifice! — Hebrews 9:22 tells us that forgiveness only comes through an outpouring of blood. —Jesus really is the lamb of God that takes away the sins of man!
