The Importance of Passover!

Every year God begins His prophetic cycle anew. It starts in the spring with Passover. Passover is a three in one celebration consisting of Passover, The Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. It goes into summer with Pentecost which is a solo feast, and it ends in the fall with Tabernacles. Tabernacles is a three in one feast also consisting of the Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement and finally the Feast of Tabernacles. The Bible tells us that Gods new year starts at Passover – the 14th day of the “first month.” And doesn’t it it really feel like a new year after we celebrate Passover and the resurrection? The year feels fresh as we receive the promised blessings of this time of year and we prepare to embark upon what God has for us in this new year and cycle. Passover is also the celebration of the barley harvest in Israel. It is the celebration of the death angel passing over the Israelites and it is the celebration of Jesus’ sacrifice as our Passover lamb. It is a time of redemption and entering into the family of God. As we again begin our annual journey as redeemed persons, let us be willing to share the blessings of belonging to the family of God – with others.
