Should We Be Observing the Biblical Holydays? The Feast Days are God’s Appointed Times for His People. We have been blessed to see Christ in the Holydays & how they ALL point to Him. — From Bill. The Lord has three festivals or holidays a year. They are found, among other places, in Lev 23. “And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts.” In the seventh month, the month of Tishri which on our calendar starts this year on or about 30 Sep, we have the Fall Feasts. They are The Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashanah which occurs on the first day of the seventh month at the new moon, the Day of Atonement on the 10th day, the Festival of Booths or Tabernacles on the 14th thru the 21st day & finally the Last Great Day on the 22nd. As Christians we are not under the law of Moses unto righteousness or salvation. We obtain our right standing with God by faith in Jesus Christ. Yet to miss the meaning of these festivals is to miss some of the amazing prophecies we find in scripture. The festivals are shadow pictures of things to come. The Fall Festivals were partially fulfilled when Christ came to earth. Their final fulfillment will come when He returns again. The trump will sound, judgement upon the earth will come after the church is removed, & Christ will rule & reign. Trumpets, Atonement & Tabernacles. Read Lev 23 for the original text. —Love Mel
