Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Prov 3:5-6 (KJV)Trust in the LORD with all your heart, &  lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, & He shall direct thy paths. — Did you know that when we trust Him, lean on Him & acknowledge Him that He promises to direct our Paths! —Prov 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, & thy thoughts shall be established. — Did you know when you commit your works to Him, He will establish your thoughts! —Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, & He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.— Finally when we give Him our burden He promised to sustain us! It is time to trust, lean, acknowledge & commit. He has got this & He is waiting on us to lay our burdens at His feet! Love Mel

Stay Focused on Him!!

Gen 26:2-4 (ESV)The LORD appeared to him (Issac)& said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you. Sojourn in this land, & I WILL BE WITH YOU & will bless you, for to you & to your offspring I will give all these lands, & I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven & will give to your offspring all these lands. Matt 28:18-20 Jesus came & said to them, “All authority in heaven & on earth has been given to me. Go therefore & make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. & behold, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, to the end of the age.” — OUR PROMISE FROM GOD,  “I WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS”! This was His final encouragement to the disciples whose world had been turned upside down! This group had been on what must have been a crazy roller coaster. We too can find ourselves on a roller coaster in this crazy world like Egypt, but if we can keep our focus on Him, we can find the peace that surpasses all understanding. STAY Focused on Jesus! God’s People!!

GOD’S PEOPLE —1 Peter 2:1-11 (ESV) So put away all malice & all deceit & hypocrisy & envy & all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen & precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen & precious, & whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” & “A stone of stumbling, & a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as sojourners & exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. — A Chosen People, A Royal Priesthood, willing to abstain the flesh, & choosing to be a light in a dark world! Choose the light! Love Mel

The Power of the Tongue

James 1:19-20 (ESV)Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Prov 16:32 Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, & he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. Prov 14:29 Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. — We must be quick to hear, slow to speak, & slow to anger! —Prov 25:28 A man without self-control is like a city broken into & left without walls. Titus 1:8 Be hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, & disciplined. Prov 18:21 Death & life are in the power of the tongue,…Exod 20:13 (KJV) Thou shalt not kill. — We must learn to employ self control! After all it is a fruit of the spirit! Love Mel

Don’t Miss the Opportunity to Work for The Lord

1 Cor 3:8-15 (ESV) He who plants & he who waters are one in purpose, & each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building. According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. —It is important to build ourselves, & to build others into faithful, growing in the love of Christ! There are rewards for our labors that are out of this world! Love Mel
