Gen 11:27-28 (ESV) Now these are the generations of Terah. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, & Haran; & Haran fathered Lot. Haran died in the presence of his father Terah in the land of his kindred, in Ur of the Chaldeans. Gen 11:31-32 Terah took Abram his son & Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, & Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the promised land of Canaan. But when they came to pass through Haran, they stopped and settled there. The days of Terah were 205 years, & Terah died in Haran. — Terah was on his way to the promised land but after the loss of his son Haran, he got “stuck” in the city of Haran (which means bitterness). Have you ever gotten stuck in bitterness or in some other painful emotion from a moment of tragedy or loss? It is all a heart matter! We have to keep our hearts uncluttered towards God. God wants our hearts! Are you willing to move past the bitterness to enter the promised land? Or are you stuck and not able to reach Gods best for you? Remember all things are possible with God! Keep moving, keep hoping & keep your heart open for God to perform a work in your heart! Love Mel
Keep Your Focus and Fear Not
Nehemiah 6:1-3 Now when Sanballat, Tobiah &Geshem the Arab & the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall & that there was no breach left in it. Sanballat & Geshem sent to me, saying, “Come &let us meet together at Hakkephirim in the plain of Ono.” But they intended to do me harm. I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work & I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it & come down to you?”— The tricks of the enemy — Distraction! Manipulation! Anything to get us to lose focus on what God wants! If you continue to read, you will find the enemies trying to instill fear! We must continue to remember FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real! We must always put our faith in God! For it is His truth that sets us free! Love Mel
Who Shall Separate Us From the Love of God?
Rom 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. — To experience the Love of Christ & to believe in His Kingdom overshadows it all! This world & life here is truly a blink of the eye! To hold to Him will get us thru the difficulties of this world & opens the door to eternity! BELIEVE! Love Mel
Abide in Him!
Isaiah 41:13 (NIV) For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand & says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven & earth. John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me & I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. — Thru it all we are to depend on God, not self. He takes hold of our hand. He is our Help! We must learn to abide in Him. This is key to understanding what it means to bear fruit! We must remember— apart from Him we can do nothing. Love Mel
The Winning Progression – Virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection, love.
2 Tim 2:15 (ESV) Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth 2 Peter 1:5-8 5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, & virtue with knowledge, & knowledge with self-control, & self-control with steadfastness, & steadfastness with godliness, & godliness with brotherly affection, & brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours & are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. — This faith, this courage, & this knowledge must be within each of us. It is truly His faith that worketh this virtue within us! This is where the fruit comes from! Do your best, it pleases Him! Love Mel
