In the Jewish wedding festival the groom betrothed his bride. Then he gave her a gift. Then he left to go to his fathers house to build their dwelling place. Then at a time, known only to his father, he went back to get his bride, have the wedding, and bring her to their new home. This is why knowing the old ways enlightens scripture to us. The bride – Rev 21:9 (KJV): “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” The gift – Jn 16:7 ((KJV) “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.” The house – Jn 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” The return – Mt 24 “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” —See any similarities? You can’t make this stuff up.
